“Evergreen” Debut Album Press Release

“Evergreen” is more than just an album. It is a journey. It is inspired by the ever changing nature landscapes with each track telling a story. At my home on Long island there is a beautiful evergreen pine tree that sits right on my front lawn. Evergreen represents constant growth and connection to home as a rooted sense of music. My album is a personal reflection of my roots and surrounding. “Evergreen” takes you on an emotional journey through the world of jazz. It includes the fiery energy of bebop, the passionate rhythms of Latin jazz and the tender beauty of soft ballads.

“Evergreen” has some of the most talented musicians from the New Jersey and New York area. The album features rising star alto and tenor saxophone players Diana Carrillo and Sofia Carrasco. Also on the album playing piano, the amazing Victor Sotomayor. “Evergreen” includes two grammy winning artists. John Benitez is a grammy winning acoustic and electric bassist. He has performed and recorded with legends Chick Corea and Tito Puente.

Nelson Jaime “Gazu” is another grammy winning artist that has participated in “Evergreen”. He is the studio engineer for this project and is one of my biggest inspirations as a professional trumpet player. Nelson Jaime has played with artists like Celia Cruz and Eddie Palmieri. He features on piano in “Evergreen” and was a huge help in making this album a reality. It is an honor to have his name listed in this project. My father, Nelson Jaime Gazu.

“Evergreen” is a blend of Latin jazz, bebop, and ballads. I have spent late nights writing my music preparing to release this to the world and I feel so proud. My trumpet solos on each track came straight from the heart in the moment and my faith in God. “Evergreen” will be released on the first week of June 2026.
